Jacket owned by the Marquis de Beauharnais, First Empire
From the Chateau de Malmaison Costume Collection app:
“This magnificent embroidered jacket belonged to Marquis François de Beauharnais (1756-1846), older brother of Alexandre de Beauharnais, Josephine’s first husband. He left the country during the French Revolution but returned to paris in 1802. After a first diplomatic post with the queen regent of Etruria, from 1806 to 1808 he was appointed ambassador to Spain by Napoleon. This garment is an example if the ‘French-style jacket,’ reminiscent of the court of Versailles, that men were required to wear by First Empire etiquette.”

Put on your time-travel goggles and tophat (because you want to look gentlemanly while traversing time, dontchou?) and check out this mind-tripping series “Dreimäderlhaus”, a collaborative effort featuring the vintage fashions of Susanne combined with the reality-altering editing of Atelier, allowing you to see the model at two different points in time and producing some rather exotic blends in spacetime fashion.
